A matchmaking meeting with Singapore for innovation cooperation on intelligent environmental protection was held at the Zhongshan Institute of Modern Industrial Technology, South China University of Technology (ZSIMIT) on September 21. Cooperative research and development projects were signed between ZSIMIT and the Singapore Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), as well as between Zhongshan-based company BacSense and technology companies from Shanghai and Chengdu.
In 2019, ZSIMIT introduced an R&D team from Singapore, and founded BacSense later in October the same year. The R&D team is dedicated to the development of intelligent laser microfluidic chips and microbial detection instruments for real-time, online detection of viruses, bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms in environmental samples.
