Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Government has decided to establish a special working group to promote the high-quality development of the low-altitude economy.
So far, enterprises in the express delivery industry in Guangdong have established seven express drone operation bases, equipped with 153 drones, 72 delivery stations, and 258 flight routes. These bases cover cities including Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Zhanjiang, and other regions, with 800 flights transporting 17,000 packages every day.
Furthermore, drone express deliveries have been applied in the distribution of medical supplies, cross-sea and cross-city deliveries, and airport express intermodal transportation. The technological innovations in this industry have been showcased at the Drone World Congress and highly praised by provincial leaders at the High-Quality Development Conference of the Low-altitude Economy in Guangdong.
In May, the "Guangdong Province Action Plan for Promoting High-Quality Development of the Low-altitude Economy (2024-2026)" was issued, aiming to establish a world-leading field for the low-altitude economy industry by 2026.
As a member of this working group, the Guangdong Provincial Postal Administration is responsible for fostering and advancing the application of low-altitude flights in express delivery.
The Guangdong Provincial Postal Administration stated that the next step is to leverage current policies, focusing on Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Zhongshan, and other cities. They aim to encourage and guide industries and enterprises to enhance their innovative capabilities, improve the quality and efficiency of the low-altitude economy in express delivery, and accelerate the cultivation of new productive forces in the industry.
