The Greater Bay Area Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine (CAIQ) has recently passed the completion acceptance.

With a total investment of 784 million yuan, the research institute is located on Buyun Road in Torch High-tech Zone. It covers a land area of 43.89 mu, with a total floor area of 126,800 square meters, and consists of one R&D building, two laboratory buildings and one supporting facility.

The project will have research centers for biomedicine, precious Chinese medicine quality and safety, cosmetics quality improvement and industry development, special food safety, product environment health and safety, inspection and testing technology, and etc.

Currently, the project is focusing on attracting investment in such fields as inspection and testing, standard certification, food safety, biomedicine, cosmetics safety and efficacy, product environment health and safety, and dietary nutrition.
