Model MySE18.X-20MW, independently developed by Zhongshan-based company Mingyang Group, went into full-power operation at the Hainan Lingao experimental wind farm on October 20. It is the largest offshore wind turbine in the world.

The MySE18.X-20MW machine set features a modular and lightweight design, and is high-efficiency and highly reliable. It has a maximum power output of 20MW and a maximum swept area of 66,966 square meters, which is equivalent to the size of nine football fields.

Based on an annual average wind speed of 8.5 m/s, the machine set's annual power generation can reach 80 million kWh, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 66,000 tons, about equal to the total annual electricity consumption of 96,000 residents. Its total power generation since September 26 has exceeded 600,000 kWh.
