While global trade turbulence rocks traditional manufacturers, Zhongshan-based company Zhongyi Heavy Industries is charting a growth trajectory against the trend, expanding its reach across European, American, and Southeast Asian markets.
When Lin Junyu founded Zhongyi Heavy Industries in 1985, few could have predicted this humble steel pole workshop would one day supply the structural backbone for mega projects like the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the ShenZhong Link.
In the company's hot-dip galvanizing workshop, steel components traverse a circular production line undergoing 12 processes and 38 quality checks. The facility boasts a 95% wastewater recycling rate and an over 98% acid mist recovery rate, earning it designation as a training hub by the International Hot-dip Galvanizing Association.
While competitors undercut prices in Southeast Asia, Zhongyi Heavy Industries plays the green card—as one of the first UN-backed Cleaner Production Initiative participants, its galvanizing process consumes 18% less energy than industry average.
"Price isn't the priority for European and American clients, certifications are," said overseas sales director Lin Zikai. "Our CWB-certified welding processes serve as the market passport, solidifying our foothold in North America."
