The 2025 Guangdong International Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition preliminary round has concluded, with 100 top-tier overseas Chinese innovation teams from around the world advancing to the semifinals.

Competing teams featured core members from over 20 countries/regions including the US, Singapore, UK, Australia, Germany and Canada. The cohort included 10+ academicians and over 100 PhD holders from prestigious overseas institutions.

Notably, 70% of entries focused on application and technology innovation, achieving significant breakthroughs in  such core AI domains as deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, multimodal fusion, and knowledge graph.

The semifinals will take place in Zhongshan, Guangdong on September 4-5.
