At 3pm on October 26, there was few visitors in the office of Zhongshan Customs on Zhongshan Port, where it was supposed to be many people coming and going. Since the nationwide integrated customs clearance system came into use, enterprises enjoy the convenience of “goods going faster and people running less”. Now they can undergo all the customs procedures through local customs department. 

By the end of September, totally 1,366 Zhongshan enterprises had chosen to declare goods at Zhongshan Port and import and export goods at ports of other places across China. The import and export value totaled 8.14 billion yuan, up 7.2%. 

Wistron Group is one of the biggest exporters in Zhongshan, with annual export and import volume of nearly ten billion yuan. More than 80% of its goods were cleared by customs in Zhongshan Port. The company’s import and export director Wu Junde said that the nationwide integrated customs clearance system not only simplifies the procedure of customs clearance, reduces clearance timet and cuts the clearance cost for enterprises, but also unifies the law enforcement standards of all customs. Enterprises would no longer worry about the long waiting time of customs clearance caused by standards difference.

“Since the nationwide integrated customs clearance system came into use, we can finish all the customs procedures at Zhongshan or any place in China. These measures reduce the restriction of customs and enable the enterprises to enjoy more benefits.” Wu Junde said that due to the accelerated logistics, confidence of clients increased and the company received more orders. In addition to the continuous growth of the European and US market, the number of orders from the markets along “the Belt and Road” region have had multiplied.
