According to Zhongshan Bureau of Commerce that in 2017 the city has added seven countries along “the Belt and Road”, including United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Burma, Malaysia and Cyprus, as foreign investment destinations. It makes the total investment of countries along “the Belt and Road” reach $2.04 billion. 

In 2017, Zhongshan has recorded (approval) 22 investment projects to the countries along the “the Belt and Road”, with a total investment of $1.24 billion, accounting for 46% of the city’s total investment abroad.
