In 2017, the total value of foreign trade in Zhongshan exceeded 250 billion yuan for the first time. The export growth reached 16.6% and the import growth was 10.9%.

The customs clearance time for import and export cargo has been accordingly reduced, says Zhongshan Customs. Statistically, last December, the Zhongshan Customs’ clearance time for imported cargo was 4.21 hours, which was shortened by 74.87% compared with the average time of 2016. The clearance time for exported cargo was 0.22 hours, 54.17% less than the average in 2016.

Liu Xuan, Chief of Customs Clearance Department of Zhongshan Customs, states that under the national "customs clearance integration reform", Zhongshan Customs keeps removing unnecessary human interventions within the customs clearance process. So far, Zhongshan-based enterprises can enjoy a series of preferential policies, such as “One Declaration, Full Permission”, which simplify the customs clearance procedures, reduce the cost of clearance, and improve the cargo circulation.
