On March 12, a fruit juice carrier, printed with “JUICE EXPRESS”, set sail from Tsuihang New District, Zhongshan and was heading to Costa Rica.

It was a fruit juice ship that Guangxin Shipbuilding and Heavy Industry built for Dutch Seatrade, the world's largest professional refrigerated forwarding agent. The 19-million-doller carrier, which is 99.9 meters long, 15.4 meters wide and 8.75 meters deep, has two cargo tanks and twelve independent liquid cargo tanks. Its carrying capacity reaches 4,364 tons.

“The whole ship is like a moving freezer in the sea.” Said Zhang Ruwen, the production director of Guangxin Shipbuilding and Heavy Industry. “It features insulated stainless steel liquid cargo tanks, which can protect fruit juice from bacterial contamination. At the same time, the independent cooling system can keep the liquid cargo tanks in low temperature from -10℃ to 0℃.”

Reportedly, another five ships that Seatrade ordered with Guangxin Shipbuilding and Heavy Industry are under construction.
