According to statistics of Zhongshan Customs, as of September 4, Zhongshan exported 873 tons of moon cakes, amounting to 9.81 million US dollars. The quantity and price increased by 2.4% and 14.2% respectively. This year, Zhongshan moon cake was exported to Hungary for the first time, and the number of exporting countries and regions reached 32.

The period before the Mid-Autumn Festival is the peak of moon cake exports. As China's largest production base for exported moon cakes, Zhongshan moon cakes account for more than half of the country's total exports. The main countries and regions for the export of Zhongshan moon cakes this year include the European Union, Canada, the United States, and Australia. Meanwhile, moon cakes contain a variety of animal and plant ingredients, and the requirements for overseas quarantine are very strict, which increases the enterprise's technical difficulty, detection cost and clearance risk. The rising cost caused by rising raw material prices has also affected the efficiency of enterprises.
