New round of China ELI survey launched

Gongbei Customs District on May 22 conducted an information session in Zhongshan and launched a new round of China Export Leading Indicator (ELI) survey.

China ELI is a comprehensive indicator that helps predict and remind enterprises of export momentum in the following 2-3 months. For the survey, the number of enterprises under Gongbei Customs District's jurisdiction has increased from 54 to 73, among which the number of sample Zhongshan-based enterprises has increased from 31 to 50.

According to Zhongshan Customs, export value of the 50 chosen Zhongshan enterprises totaled 43.4 billion yuan in 2018, accounting for 24.08% of the city's gross export value.

TCL Air Conditioner (Zhongshan) Co Ltd (hereinafter referred to as TCL) is one of the 50 selected. Wu Chaojia, a company representative, said TCL has been a sample enterprise for long. At the end of each month, the company shall fill out the survey questionnaire in a system to assist customs department to complete the statistical work.

TCL is currently a senior authenticated enterprise that could enjoy customs preferential policies.

It is reported that sample enterprises will be alternated every 2 or 3 years.
