Under the supervision and operation of the Zhongshan Customs officers, a total of 30 cartons of unqualified imported food, weighing 154.8 kg with a value of $987, was disposed on the morning of May 23.
It was introduced that the disposed food contains some ingredients that do not meet the national food safety standards.
Since the beginning of 2019, Zhongshan Customs has continuously intercepted and captured 5 batches of imported foods, including biscuits, honey, chewing gum, fish oil and canned foods, from Turkey, India, Australia and Peru. These foods, weighing 494.5 kg with a value of $5,083 in total, were identified unqualified due to using food additives above standard, bee disease epidemics and non-conformity with food safety standards.
