From January to May, Zhongshan has established trade relations with 206 countries and regions, 6 more trade partners than those of the same period last year.

According to Lin Weiqiang, Director of the Zhongshan Bureau of Commerce, at present, investors from more than 50 countries and regions are running over 3,600 enterprises in Zhongshan.

Statistics has showed that from January to May, the total import and export value of the city amounted to 98.76 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 8.2% from 2018. The amount of export reached 79.59 billion yuan, rising by 13.8%.

Meanwhile, Zhongshan has accelerated the implementation of its strategy for enterprises "going out". The import and export to crucial trade regions such as the Belt and Road countries, the EU and the ASEAN rose by 13.3%, 18.5%, and 16.6% respectively, and the export and import to Africa grew by 90.7%, compared with the same period last year.

Currently, Zhongshan enterprises have invested in 36 countries and regions. The "going out" comprehensive service information platform has gathered a total of 69 investment promotion agencies and professional service agencies from host countries, with more than 530 companies registered on the platform.
