The General Administration of Customs recently announced that, starting from October 1, label filing of first imported prepackaged food will be canceled, and the supervision pattern will switch from a "recording system" to a "random inspection system."
According to the person in charge of Zhongshan Customs, prepackaged food refers to food prepackaged or prepared in packaging materials and containers. The cancellation of label filing for first imported prepackaged food will improve customs clearance efficiency.
A few days ago, Zhongshan Port Customs has conducted training and policy publicity for food import enterprises in Zhongshan in various ways to ensure that importers can enjoy policy benefits.
From January to August this year, some 1,353 batches of food, including dairy products, alcoholic beverages, nuts, biscuits, candies, drinks and instant noodles, were imported through Zhongshan Port, with a total value of $139 million.
