Zhongshan Customs released a report on November 20 stating that the total value of imports and exports in Zhongshan City for the first 10 months of this year was 199.92 billion yuan. This marks an increase of 4.2% over the same period last year. Of this total, exports comprised 161.63 billion yuan, up 9.9%, while imports totaled 38.29 billion yuan; a decrease of 14.4%.
In the first 10 months, Zhongshan's imports and exports in general trading reached 98.66 billion yuan, a rise of 6.4%, which accounted for 49.4% of the city's total import and export value within the same period. In the form of processing trade, the import and export value stood at 86.27 billion yuan, which was a 10% and accounted for 43.2% of the total.
The imports and exports of Zhongshan companies to the European Union, ASEAN, Japan, and Hong Kong were 280 million yuan, 24 billion yuan, 12.68 billion yuan, and 19.41 billion yuan, respectively. These reflected increases of 17.1%, 5.9%, 1%, and one decrease of 2.5% compared with last year's figures.
The imports and exports of Zhongshan enterprises to emerging markets in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East were 13.87 billion yuan, 4.81 billion yuan and 8.35 billion yuan, a growth of 5.0%, 44.6% and 21.1%, respectively.
In the first ten months of this year, trade volume between Zhongshan companies and Belt and Road countries reached 48.05 billion yuan, up 7.3% compared with last year. These primary trading countries include Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Thailand and Russia.
