Zhongshan's total import and export volume in the first three quarters of 2022 was 218.79 billion yuan, up 12.3% year-on-year, including a total export value of 182.6 billion yuan, up 13.8%, and an import value of 36.19 billion yuan, up 5.5%.
Zhongshan's trade with the US and the EU rose by 12.3% and 5.4% year-on-year respectively, accounting for a respective 20.1% and 15.2% of its total foreign trade volume; trade with Hong Kong declined by 8.3%; trade with countries along the Belt and Road and other RCEP members went up by 24.9% and 17% respectively.
The total number of import/export enterprises stood at 4,797, up 20% year-on-year. Among them, 3,581 private enterprises registered a total import and export volume of 95.52 billion yuan, up 13.3% and boosting overall foreign trade by 5.8 percentage points.
Market procurement exports reached a value of 2.59 billion yuan, up 125.2%. The export of labor-intensive products, automatic data processing equipment and related parts, and lighting fixtures and related parts grew by 18%, 37.4% and 38.5% respectively, driving up the total export volume by 7.9 percentage points.
The imports of electronic components, unwrought copper and copper, and pulp increased by 21%, 4%, and 54.1% respectively, accounting for 40.9% of Zhongshan's total imports. The imports of agricultural products increased by 25.7%, accounting for 8.7% of the total imports.
