"Our company is situated in Nanlang, Zhongshan. Previously, we had to make advance appointments for exporting goods, and during the peak period there could be a waiting time of two to three days. Now, the Customs has introduced a 'remote inspection' mode conducted through video, which significantly enhances the export efficiency", said Lu Zhengwen, head of a display product company in Zhongshan.
Starting April this year, the Zhongshan Customs has implemented the "remote inspection" mode to resolve such issues as long drives, challenging time arrangement and tight human resources related to on-site inspections. This will also provide strong support for Zhongshan furniture companies to tap global markets.
Bamboo, wood and grass product manufacturing, represented by furniture, is one Zhongshan's dominant industries. In the first quarter of this year, Zhongshan exported 9,736 batches of bamboo, wood and grass products to more than 100 countries or regions, with a value of 727 million yuan.
