In the first half of 2024, Zhongshan's import and export value totaled 136.96 billion yuan, with an increase of 12.6% year-on-year (same below). Exports were 119.56 billion yuan, up 15%, while imports stood at 17.4 billion yuan, down 1.3%.
In the first half, Zhongshan's import and export value through general trade mode reached 87.98 billion, up 18%, accounting for 64.2% of the total import-export value (same below). The import and export value through processing trade mode was 43.13 billion yuan, up 1.1%, accounting for 31.5%. The exports through market procurement trade mode amounted to 3.75 billion yuan, up 50%.
The imports and exports of private enterprises increased 18.3% to 64.43 billion yuan, accounting for 47%. The imports and exports of foreign-invested enterprises rose 7.8% to 63.37 billion yuan, accounting for 46.2%. And that of state-owned enterprises jumped 24.5% to 9.15 billion yuan, accounting for 6.7%.
In the first half, Zhongshan's trade volumes with the US, the EU, ASEAN and China's Taiwan region grew 10.1%, 19.3%, 18% and 21.4% respectively to 23.68 billion yuan, 23.37 billion yuan, 16.09 billion yuan and 6.38 billion yuan, and the trade volume with China's Hong Kong region was 7.61 billion yuan, a decrease of 12.3%. Zhongshan's trade volumes with BRI countries and RCEP member countries stood at 53.29 billion yuan and 29.39 billion yuan, up 20.3% and 7.4% respectively.
