At the Zhongshan Sinotrans Port, a shipment of microwave ovens produced by Galanz was barged to Guangzhou Nansha Port through the "Combined Port (Single Port Passage)" mode and then directly transshipped to overseas markets.
It marked the launch of the new combined port route between Zhongshan Port and Nansha Port.
"This mode saves us 1-2 days in logistics time for goods transshipped via Guangzhou for export," said Liu Xiangke, deputy manager of the department of commerce at Sinotrans Zhongshan Warehouse & Terminal Co Ltd.
In collaboration with Guangzhou Nansha, Shenzhen Yantian and other ports, Zhongshan Port Customs has been expanding the coverage and scaling up operational capacity of the Combined Port (Single Port Passage) Mode in recent years.
The Combined Port (Single Port Passage) Mode leverages blockchain and IoT technologies to enable port code sharing and mutual recognition of customs supervision, allowing export goods to undergo "single declaration, single inspection, and single release", a process that drastically reduces customs clearance time and logistics costs.
So far, a total of 12 Combined Port (Single Port Passage) routes have been launched between ports in Zhongshan and those in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other places.
