Compared with June, Zhongshan’s CPI rose by 0.3% month-on-month. In specific, food prices rose by 0.4%, non-food prices rose by 0.3%, consumer product prices decreased by 0.1%, and services prices rose by 1.1%. 

There is an obvious rise in food prices, especially for vegetable products. July is characterized high temperature and humidity, which is unfavorable for the growth of vegetables. According to the data of Zhongshan Investigation Team of NBS, vegetable prices in July rose by 12.8% on the whole, with many types of cabbages rising by more than 20%. 

Compared with the same period of last year, Zhongshan’s CPI rose by 1.8% in July. The accumulated rise of Zhongshan’s CPI from January to July of the year amounts to 1.4%.
