Recently, “The Urban Design of Zhongshan Shiqi District Headquarter Cluster Zone (Start-up Area) ” (as “the Design” below) has been publicized on the official website of Zhongshan Urban and Rural Planning Bureau for public opinions.

According to the Design, the Shiqi headquarter enterprises cluster zone will be built into a people-oriented complex central business district with innovative, livable, dynamic and fashionable characteristics. It will also become the pilot demonstration zone of economic functions and industrial system core of Zhongshan City.

The headquarter enterprises cluster zone will be located in the Northeast part of Shiqi District, next to the Qijiang New Town. The total area of used land reaches 118 hectares, and the regulatory plan-adjusted total area of used land reaches 286 hectares. The project starts at Qiwan Avenue to the east and ends at Donghua Road to the west, reaches Shiqi River to the north and Kanghua Road to the south.

According to the Design, public transport will be the core part and car traffic and slow-moving traffic will be the supplements of the transportation system within the zone. The public traffic system will consist mainly of overhead urban rail, subway, bus route and water bus.

There will be 13 different functional areas within the zone, including waterfront public space, waterfront commercial streets, financial business district, service area, living communities, and etc.
