The meeting convened by the Standing Committee of Municipal Party Committee early this month required Zhongshan to accelerate the establishment of modern economic system and to build high quality development demonstration base.
Good news for “high quality development” keeps pouring in since the beginning of the month. On March 1, Mingyang Group’s 7MW multibrid giant offshore turbine made its debut on CCTV program "The Pillars of a Great Power (Season 2)". Days later on March 6, another CCTV program "Set Sail for the New Era" introduced Zhongshan-based technology company Union Optech. China’s first fruit juice carrier built by Zhongshan-based Guangxin Shipbuilding and Heavy Industry company was put into service on March 12.
From traditional shoes and clothes making to strategic emerging industries such as advanced equipment manufacturing and biological medicine, Zhongshan has been pursuing “high quality development” since the reform and opening-up.
