In the first quarter of the year, added value of Zhongshan’s service industry reached 34.14bn yuan, with an increase of 5.0% year on year, according to Zhongshan Bureau of Statistics. The contribution rate of service industry to GDP growth is 73.9%. 

By the end of the first quarter, Zhongshan has 257 thousand service industry market entities, up 6.2% and accounting for 71.8% of the city’s total. About 10.7 thousand are newly registered in Q1, up 3.6%.

There are 1,413 above-scale units in wholesale, retail, accommodation and catering industries in Zhongshan by the end of the first quarter. Industries related to information technologies are growing faster. The operating income of internet and related services, software and information technology service industry, express service industry and commercial service industry has increased by 35.5%.
