Preliminary statistics show that from January to May this year, Zhongshan had approved 246 new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with an increase of 192.86% year-on-year, according to Zhongshan Commerce Bureau. 

Contracted foreign capital increased 17.3% to US$206mn, while the actual utilization of foreign capital rose 6.58% to US$358.9mn. Both figures grew for two consecutive months. 

Hong Kong was still the largest source of foreign investment of Zhongshan city.
