Zhongshan adds 38,681 market players in the first half of this year, involving registered capital of 44.4bn yuan, according to Zhongshan Industrial and Commercial Bureau. The figures increased by 10.26% and 17.23% respectively from the same period last year.

About 65.89% of the newly-registered market entities are from wholesale and retail, hotels and catering services, leasing and business services, and resident services, repairing and other services sectors. 

The number of foreign-invested enterprises sees rapid growth. There were 382 newly-registered foreign companies in the first half of the year, an increase of 134.36% year-on-year, 271 of which were invested by Hong Kong and Macao capital, accounting for 70.94%.

As of the end of June, there are about 367,600 market entities in Zhongshan.
