The ground-breaking ceremony of Zhongshan (Shiqi) Headquarter Economic Zone was held by Shiqi River days before. It is a substantial step of the Central Group’s new “strong heart” development strategy.

The Zhongshan Headquarter Economic Zone covers an area of over 3 sqkm. It divides into Shiqi, Eastern and Northern three areas.

Zhongshan (Shiqi) Headquarter Economic Zone project will be advanced under “PPP+EPC” financing mode for the first time. The main part of Zhongshan (Shiqi) Headquarter Economic Zone borders Qijiang River to the north, Shenghua Road and Fukang Road to the south, Donghua Road to the west, and Qiwan Avenue to the east, with total planned area of 1.1 sqkm and total investment of over 50bn yuan. The construction period will last for 3 years, and the operation and maintenance period will be 10 years.

According to preliminary design, Zhongshan (Shiqi) Headquarter Economic Zone contains multiple areas such as business area, service area, waterfront recreational area and residential area with different functions. In the business area, for example, there will be 12 super high-rise buildings, 500 tall top, which are expected to be the new landmarks of Zhongshan city. Zhongshan (Shiqi) Headquarter Economic Zone will also contain basic installation including two bridges and a river-crossing tunnel and public supporting facilities including kindergartens, provincial first-grade primary schools, space corridors, public transport facilities and transfer centers, and etc.
