The city has made remarkable achievements in investment promotion since the beginning of the year, according to Zhongshan Commerce Bureau. A total of 702 projects have been introduced, with an investment amount of 386.325 billion yuan. 

Some 136 out of 702 are service industry projects, accounting for nearly 20% of the total. Person in charge of Zhongshan Commerce Bureau said a batch of high-caliber projects that may lead high-quality economic development and drive transformation and upgrading of traditional industries have been introduced.

For example, as one of the the 44 major projects signed on the stage during the trade, investment and top talent fair held on March 28 this year, the first testing base German VDE Testing and Certification Institute sets up in China settled in Zhongshan. It plans to provide testing services to 3,000 companies and issue 12,000 certificates in three years’ time. On the occasion, home appliances and other enterprises in Zhongshan and surrounding cities can access to international markets promptly.

Since September, the municipal government and the commerce bureau have also held several investment promotion conferences respectively in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in order to get Zhongshan connected to superior resources within the Greater Bay Area.
