During the New Year's holiday, when online shopping enthusiast Hong opened the official website of Guangdong Homa Appliances Co Ltd, she was surprised to a "Hongdun" (red shield) mark at the bottom of the page. Clicking on the label, she was taken to another website -  the Guangdong Market Supervision and Administration Information Platform - where she could find the business licensing information of the company.

In order to strengthen the market supervision in key areas and optimize the online market supervision system, the Zhongshan Industrial and Commercial Administration Bureau has taken various measures to advance the identity authentication of online market main-bodies. As of November 2018, a total of 4,212 Zhongshan-based websites have been labeled with the "Hongdun" mark. This number accounts for 33.7% of the province's total, and it leads all prefecture-level cities in Guangdong.

According to the Zhongshan Industrial and Commercial Administration Bureau, it has been guiding enterprises towards applying for the "Hongdun" mark since 2017. This action prevents lawbreakers from setting up illicit or fake websites for illegal business operations, and it helps enterprises improve their social credibility and public trust.
