As of the close of 2018, the number of market entities in Zhongshan increased 9.08% from a year earlier to a record high of around 382,700, per statistics provided by the Zhongshan Administration for Market Regulation.

Last year, Zhongshan added approximately 79,900 newly-registered market entities. This was also an increase of 9.30% from the 2017 figure. Based on 22 working days per month, Zhongshan added 300 new market entities, on average, each day last year.

Tanzhou Town reported the fastest 2018 growth rate at 18.46%. The total number of market entities reached 22,300. Xiaolan Town topped the city with 44,700 market entities, and this accounted for 11.67% of Zhongshan's total amount.
