The Zhongshan Central Branch of the People's Bank of China released Zhongshan's financial statistics for the first half of 2019 on August 1.

According to these statistics, Zhongshan's loan balance in both domestic and foreign currency totaled 456,071 million yuan in the first half of 2019, with a year-on-year growth of 17.63%, thereby setting a new record of the quarterly growth rate for the past five years with an increase of 3.81 percentage points month on month and 10.44 percentage points year on year. In the first half of 2019, some 47,668 million yuan of new credit and loan was issued, 1.58 times as much as that of 2018.

In the first half of 2019, the loan balance of companies and government organizations stood at 199,649 million yuan with an increase of 12.66% year on year. The amount of new credit and loan stood at 20,151 million yuan with a year-on-year growth of 17,362 million yuan.

The loan balance of the manufacturing industry stood at 72,094 million yuan with an increase of 8.51% year on year, up by 10.45 percentage points in growth rate. The new investment of credit and loan stood at 5,854 million yuan, up by 6,358 million yuan year-on-year. By late June, the medium and long term loan of the manufacturing industry increased by 17.11% on a year-on-year basis, up by 10.83 percentage points in growth rate.

The private company loan witnessed a significantly faster growth in the second quarter and recorded a balance of 133,227 million yuan by late June with an increase of 8.49% year on year. Similarly, inclusive loans for micro- and small-sized enterprises increased rapidly, thus recording a balance of 53,774 billion yuan by late June with an increase of 21.22%.

By late June, the deposit balance of domestic and foreign currency stood at 627,658 million yuan, thereby increasing by 7.16% year on year. In the first half of 2019, all deposits increased by 34,178 million yuan compared with early 2019, including an increase of 18,707 million yuan in household deposits.
