As of July 26, 2019,  Zhongshan's registered market entities exceeded 400,000 for the first time, up to 401,154, involving a registered capital of 676.8 billion yuan, with both its actual number and fund amount reaching record highs. The Zhongshan Administration for Market Regulation released the news on August 22.

Presently, the number of Zhongshan's private enterprises and individually-owned businesses accounts for 96% of the total market entities, recording 140,000 and 240,000 respectively.

The registered capital of private enterprises, domestic-funded enterprises (non-private) and foreign-funded enterprises accounts for 98.9% of the total registered capital in Zhongshan. Among others, 110.7 billion yuan was invested by foreign-funded enterprises, accounting for 16% of the total registered capital.

The Zhongshan Administration for Market Regulation continues to carry out a series of reforms such as "integrating multiple certificates and licenses into one consolidated business license", to enhance the convenience of enterprise start-up and significantly stimulate the entrepreneurial and innovative vitality of market entities.
