The 5th Exposition for Investment and Trade of Advanced Equipment Manufacturing in West Bank of the Pearl River (AEME) was held in Foshan City on September 20 to 22.

At the AEME this year, 85 products were on display in the Zhongshan exhibition area (about 3,000 square meters) in five sections: "Robot", "5G Communication and Optoelectronic", "New Energy Equipment", "High-end Medical Equipment" and "Intelligent Equipment", demonstrating Zhongshan's achievements in the construction of the industrial belt of advanced equipment manufacturing in west bank of the Pearl River.

At the signing ceremony, contracts were signed for 100-million-yuan-level new equipment manufacturing projects in Zhongshan, with a total investment of 20 billion yuan. These projects included a number of advanced equipment manufacturing projects, such as airport equipment production bases, precision temperature control and energy conservation equipment, and Xinghe Intelligent Manufacturing.

Since 2014, Zhongshan has been actively participating in the construction of the industrial belt of advanced equipment manufacturing in west bank of the Pearl River. A total of 175 100-million-yuan-level equipment manufacturing projects have been introduced, including high-end unmanned equipment from the Harbin Institute of Technology, BYD Intelligent Terminal and Rail Transit Industry Project, Cryogenic Refrigeration Equipment Industry Park of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ruike nano-cadmium telluride thin film solar cell, MinFound Medical Devices, Xiaolan New Energy Vehicle, and so on.

Some 128 out of these 175 projects (about 73%) have been launched.

A number of projects were put into operation, including the Monforts Fong's, new elevator factory of Thyssenkrupp, Honglida Precision Equipment, LK Machinery, Xiaolan Car and Ruike Nano Solar Power Equipment.

Equipment manufacturing is the first pillar industry in Zhongshan. There are more than 3,200 equipment manufacturing enterprises in Zhongshan at present, among which 838 are above the designated size.
