Henglan Town will hold the third China (Henglan) Flower and Tree Trade Fair on November 2 and 3, and nearly 1,000 industry experts, large scale growers will be invited to participate in the exhibition.
According to Huang Wenhao, Director of the Henglan Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, since May this year, the Zhongshan Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as well as the party committee and the government of Henglan Town have launched various preparations for the event. From July 17 to 19, Henglan Town organized research groups to visit Yanling County, Xuchang City (Henan Province) and Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City (Zhejiang Province).
Liang Shenhua, President of the Henglan Flower Association, said Henglan was planning to build itself a distribution center for the flower industry in South China. This year's fair will highlight the trade function and vigorously promote the construction of a provincial-level modern flower and tree industrial park, a major project.
"Henglan Town recently became a regional flower and tree industry distribution center, with a planting area of more than 80,000 mu (around 5,333 ha) for flower and tree trade, and an annual sales volume of nearly 2.5 billion yuan. The fair will speed up the completion of the flower and tree industrial park," said Liang Shenhua. "According to the analysis of experts in the industry, it is estimated that after the completion and operation of the project, about 1.8 million mu (about 120,000 ha) of flower and tree products from more than 50% of south China will be gathered here for trade in three years, bringing an annual sales volume of more than 10 billion yuan."
