Driven by the yacht industry, Shenwan town is undergoing remarkable changes. It targets to become the ecological leisure tourism destination and high-end shipbuilding industry cluster zone in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Chen Fuxing, Party Committee Secretary of Shenwan Town, and other guests joined the radio program "People's Voice on Friday" on October 25. They revealed that Shenwan has gathered 12 yacht manufacturing and service companies since 2012 when it successfully introduced Jianglong Shipbuilding, a leading company in the subdivision of ship manufacturing. Advanced manufacturing industry represented by yacht industry has become the pillar industry of Shenwan. 

Last year, the total output value of the advanced manufacturing industry in Shenwan town was about 2.45 billion yuan, accounting for 53.7% of the town's above-scale industrial output value. Jianglong Shipbuilding, a listed company on the Growth Enterprise Market, successfully developed China's first methanol-powered ship with independent intellectual property rights this year. 

Regarding the future development of the yacht industry, Chen Fuxing said that, Shenwan would build an all-aluminum alloy ship manufacturing base, a clean energy ship manufacturing base, and a military and police ship manufacturing base on the core of Jianglong Shipbuilding. 

In terms of yacht services, 3 service providers Shengbang, Lihang and Tengbu have entered Shenwan. Specifically, Shengbang Yacht Training and Examination Center, the only one approved by the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport, has already trained more than 300 yacht drivers so far.
