The annual "Double 11" e-commerce battle arrived as promised, and the baton was handed over to courier companies after trading volumes hit a record high. The express industry ushered in the busiest season of the year, and the industry insiders considered it as the travel rush of the express industry.
November 13 was one of the busiest days as express delivery reached the peak after the "Double 11". Around 8:30pm, the journalist arrived at Yunda Express (Zhongshan) Co Ltd which was situated in Dongsheng Town.
Outside, large trucks were lining up to wait to be unloaded. In the warehouse full of light, packages, large and small, were running fast on the conveyor belt. Staff were busy in their posts with proficiency and concentration, and one could only hear the roar of machines running fast inside the factory. Such a busy operation at the assembly line could make someone forget the passage of time.
In recent days, Yunda Express has handled an average of more than 1.1 million items per day with an average of more than 50,000 items per hour.
In order to cope with the surge of the "Double 11" express delivery, Yunda Express has added 150 trucks per day to its original 70 trucks, recruited 450 temporary workers on the basis of nearly 300 employees, and adopted the "double-shift" to handle the express items.
