The Guangdong Department of Culture and Tourism recently announced the list of 9 provincial cultural industry demonstration parks. Guangdong Game & Amusement Culture Industry City, located in Gangkou Town, was on the list.

The Guangdong Game & Amusement Culture Industry City project covers an area of 416 mu (277,333.3 square meters) with a planned investment of 2.6 billion yuan and a construction area of 800,000 square meters.

The game city will consist of international industrial R&D headquarters, international product trading, exhibition and marketing zone, international exhibition and cultural experience zone, finance, commerce and science education zone, and business service zone.

The first phase of the game city is 156 mu (104,000 square meters) large, with an investment of 800 million yuan. The 130,000-square-meter headquarters building within the Area A was completed and put into operation in October 2016. More than 50 brand companies have now settled in the game city.

The Guangdong Department of Culture and Tourism also published a list of qualifications for the establishment of provincial cultural industry demonstration parks in 2019. Chinese Rosewood Culture Expo City in Dachong Town will also be qualified to create a provincial cultural industry demonstration park.
