At noon on March 15, the ship "Zhongshi 200" docked at Zhongshan Shuichu Wharf for the last time, where "Zhongshi 118" and "Zhongshi 138" had been quietly waiting for it. On shore, the customs officer completed the last customs clearance formalities for it.

Firecrackers were set off, marking the end of the 48-year-old service of Guangdong Province's only wharf of freshwater fish supply for Hong Kong. From now on, all live fish supplied to Hong Kong will be transported by land.

He Ronghong, chairman of Zhongshan Shuichu Group, said that the change in transportation mode is the result of striving to meet the needs of customers, and also the result of the company's continuous exploration and transformation. The large-scale transportation mode by ships is outdated, while "point-to-point" accurate distribution has become the trend.

At present, Zhongshan Shuichu Group is opening community fresh food stores with "Qian Da Ma" in Hong Kong. "We will further develop basic processed and deep processed goods to meet new retail needs." He said that the office buildings previously used to support the wharf will undergo transformation; that it will further expand its scale and become a larger processing base.
