During the epidemic, the traditional clothing wholesale industry is suffering from the huge impact. On the afternoon of April 12, in order to help business owners broaden their sales channels and seek new ways of development, Longrui International Garment City held a live broadcast with such platforms as WeChat Youbo and Tik Tok to guide 1,500 traditional businesses to explore a new sales model combining online retail and offline wholesale.
Around 3 pm that day, in the lobby on the first floor of the garment city, several livestream hostesses were standing on the elaborately built stage, recommending their T-shirts to the camera. In less than half an hour, the number of viewers in the broadcast room exceeded 800.
Liu Jingjiang, general manager of the clothing mall, told Zhongshan Daily that 90% of the businesses are operating normally now. In previous years, from April to June was the peak season for clothing sales. But this year, affected by the epidemic, many goods could not be sold and some business owners had to end their commercial leases.
In order to help shops reduce the operating pressure, the property operator reduced the management fee for 3 months, and adopted the popular online live broadcast mode to open up a brand-new sales channel for business owners.
Next, the clothing mall plans to build a large broadcast studio in the lobby on the first floor for business owners to use, while encouraging them to be hosts themselves.
