On May 3, at the Henglan Flowers and Trees Base, more than 100 trucks were busy driving in and out. On that day alone, the base saw a turnover of over 5 million yuan, ushering in the first trading boom after the Spring Festival this year.
"Starting from May 1, we have been working from 7 am till 12 pm. Although we are tired, we are so happy. After all, we have been missing these busy hours for a long time." Chen Jiacheng, the owner of Lin Ting Garden, said happily.
In the flower farm around Lin Ting Garden, cranes were loading large trees into nearby trucks, and flower farmers were carrying potted flowers seedlings onto the trucks.
"Some are transported to cities around the Pearl River Delta, and a large part of these seedlings are sold to other provinces such as Yunnan and Hunan. Today's turnover is the highest since the Spring Festival this year, reaching more than 5 million yuan. It is such a considerable turnover, and it may continue for another several days." Liang Shenhua, director of Henglan Flowers and Trees Association, said that with the resumption of work and production across the country, the demand for flowers and trees have soared, breaking out of the haze of slow flower sales caused by the epidemic some time ago.
