On May 20, the "Suggestions of Guangdong Provincial People's Government on Cultivating and Developing Strategic Pillar Industrial Clusters and Strategic Emerging Industrial Clusters" were released on the official website of the Guangdong government. The Suggestions propose to build 10 strategic pillar industrial clusters and 10 strategic emerging industrial clusters.

Zhongshan was explicitly mentioned to participate in the constructions of 6 of the 20 industrial clusters, including the intelligent household appliances industrial cluster, bio-medicine and health industrial cluster, high-end equipment manufacturing industrial cluster, intelligent robot industrial cluster, laser and additive manufacturing industrial cluster, and the digital creative industrial cluster.

At present, the 2 major industrial clusters, intelligent household appliances and high-end equipment, have industrial scale exceeding 100 billion yuan in Zhongshan. As a participant in the construction of these 2 strategic industrial clusters, Zhongshan will continue to promote the development of both of them to a new level.
