The 4th Zhongshan Forum for Cross Straits held on July 17 and 18. Politicians, businessmen, and academicians from both sides of the Taiwan Straits as well as from Hong Kong and Macao conducted exchanges and discussions on the theme of "Promoting Sun Yat-sen Spirits, Seeking National Rejuvenation". This is the fourth forum since holdings in 2010, 2013 and 2016 respectively.

It is reported that the first Taiwan-funded enterprise settled in Zhongshan in 1988. With over 30 years of development, there are currently 1,033 Taiwan-funded enterprises in Zhongshan. Many companies of them have an output value of more than 1 billion yuan, including Wistron, TFT, Shunsin, Guangsheng, and etc.

Founded in 1998 in Torch Development Zone, Wistron's Zhongshan base is now the largest Taiwan-funded enterprise in Zhongshan, with an output value of 39 billion yuan in 2018.

In 2019, another 34 Taiwan-funded enterprises established connections in Zhongshan. In that whole year, newly contracted Taiwan investment reached US$97.3 million.

Taiwan businessmen in Zhongshan play an important role in promoting Zhongshan, assisting in attracting investment, boosting economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between Zhongshan and Taiwan, and the peaceful development of both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
