Zhongshan's GDP sees 16.4% growth in first half

According to the combined statistics from accounting departments in Guangdong province, Zhongshan's GDP in the first half of 2021 totaled 165.12 billion yuan, up 16.4% year-on-year, with an average annual increase of 4.3% over the last two years.

In the first half, the added value of the primary industry in Zhongshan was 3.862 billion yuan, 35.7% more than in the first half last year, with an average annual growth of 15.7% over the last two years. The added value of the secondary industry was 82.737 billion yuan, up 20.1%, with an annual average increase of 3.7% over the last two years. The added value of the tertiary industry was 78.521 billion yuan, up 12.0%, with an annual average increase of 4.6% over the last two years.

Industrial production grew steadily, and the manufacturing industry continued to recover. The added value of the industrial enterprises above designated size in Zhongshan was 65.808 billion yuan, 24.0% more than the previous year, with an average annual increase of 5.8% over the last two years.

Fixed-asset investment rose by 19.1% compared with the first half last year in Zhongshan, with an average annual increase of 18.3% over the last two years. The total volume of imports and exports were valued at 120.48 billion yuan, up 23.8%. The sales retail goods valued 78.783 billion yuan, rising by 19.2%.

The per capita disposable income of Zhongshan residents in the first half was 29,614 yuan, up 14.3% from last year, or 13.6% after adjusting for inflation, with an average annual increase of 7.1% over the last two years.
