According to a report from the Zhongshan Bureau of Statistics released on January 25, Zhongshan's GDP in 2021 was 356.617 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 8.2% and an average growth of 4.8% in the last two years.
The added value of the primary industry was 9.081 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 20.4% and an average growth of 18.9% in the last two years. The added value of the secondary industry was 176.178 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 11.0% and an average growth of 6.1% in the last two years. The added value of the tertiary industry was 171.358 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 5.0% and an average growth of 3.0% in the last two years.
Imports and exports grew rapidly. Zhongshan's import and export volume was valued at 269.49 billion yuan in 2021 with a year-on-year growth of 22%, hitting a record high. This includes an export volume valued at 223.16 billion yuan with a year-on-year growth of 23%, and an import volume valued at 46.33 billion yuan with a year-on-year growth of 17.6%.
Fixed-asset investments grew by 15.3% year-on-year, with an average growth of 18.4% over the last two years.
Zhongshan's total retail sales of consumer goods reached 153.011 billion yuan in 2021, with a year-on-year growth of 8.7% and an average decrease of 2.8% in the last two years. Zhongshan's consumer price index (CPI) grew by 1.1% year-on-year.
Residents' income increased steadily, with per capita disposable income reaching 57,901 yuan and a year-on-year nominal growth of 9.8%.
