At a conference on promoting high-quality economic development held recently in Shenwan Town, Yan Zhiqing, chairman of Jianglong Shipbuilding Co Ltd, a leading enterprise in the town, revealed that the company had seen rapid development since it moved its headquarters to Shenwan in 2011 and now it had become an A-share listed company. 

The rapid development of Jianglong Shipbuilding is inseparable from the support of the local government and efforts to create a good business environment. "Shenwan's economic subsidies for company headquarters and the economic subsidies from provincial and municipal governments on technological innovation have especially helped us," said Yan Zhiqing.

Jianlong Shipbuilding is currently working on a 30,000-square-meter manufacturing project which will become a production base for environment-friendly ships, high-speed marine law enforcement vessels, mini cruise ships and passenger ferries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The conference also conveyed a strong signal: putting the entrepreneurs in a position of vital importance. "It is necessary for the government and enterprises to work together to build high-end industrial clusters," said Lin Weiqiang, secretary of the CPC Shenwan Town Committee, adding that enterprises will always play a leading role in high-quality economic development.

Shenwan is dedicated to give space for the development of the high-end manufacturing industry and roll out support policies to cover smaller-scale enterprises. "We will build Shenwan into a port economic zone, revive the yacht tour industry between Guangdong and Macao, build a high-end tourist resort, and plan to introduce such high-end industries as biomedicine," said Lin Weiqiang.
