On the evening of March 28, the CCTV-2 finance channel's "Economy 30 Minutes" program reported "Zhongshan's Efforts in Integrative Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", focusing on Zhongshan's deep participation in the GBA construction.

In February 2019, the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" was released, in which Zhongshan was highlighted as an important node city in the GBA. Major transportation projects, such as the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, have brought new development opportunities for Zhongshan to joining the international division of resources.

From traffic complementation to to industrial cooperation, Zhongshan as a GBA node city has been strengthening its interconnection with neighboring cities, hoping to achieve mutual complementarity and improve weaknesses so as to promote agglomeration of the city cluster.

At present, Zhongshan is taking advantage of its location to advance integrative development. Efforts have been put in hardware construction, including infrastructure, and software convergence, in such areas as business environment building, industrial policy making and talent introduction.
