Since the beginning of this year, Zhongshan has paid close attention to the construction of key projects and actively coordinated to resolve any difficulties and problems involved. From January to May, the construction of both provincial and municipal key projects in Zhongshan has progressed ahead of schedule, and 60% provincial key projects' investment targets will be achieved in the first half of this year.

This year, Zhongshan has 215 key construction projects, with an annual planned investment of 65.57 billion yuan. From January to May, the investment amount totaled 28.05 billion yuan, 42.8% of the yearly goal 1.1% over the expected number for the current date. There are 62 provincial key projects, with a planned annual investment of 38.16 billion yuan. From January to May, the investment amount totaled 18.61 billion yuan, 48.8% of the annual goal, 7.1% more than the expected figure.

This year, 152 projects are under construction, with a planned annual investment of 49.35 billion yuan. From January to May, the investment amount totaled 23.59 billion yuan, 47.8% of the annual goal and 6.1% more than the expected number.

Relatively fast progress has been made in industrial engineering and public benefit projects. In the first five months of this year, the investment amount of industrial engineering projects totaled 11.93 billion yuan, 46.6% of the annual goal and 4.9% more than the expected amount for the current date.
