Zhongshan plans to commence a total of 123 municipal key projects in the first quarter of this year, with a total investment of 107.82 billion yuan. Thirty-nine have started construction in the first quarter, with a total investment of 65.54 billion yuan.

Nine of these projects have a total investment of over 1 billion yuan each, including the Nansha-Zhuhai (Zhongshan) Intercity Railway, the flood control and drainage project in Maowanchong, the reconstruction and extension project of the Guangzhou-Macao Highway, and the new energy vehicle equipment manufacturing project of Shoshion.

On January 30, the commencement ceremony of manufacturing projects in the first quarter of 2023 was held. With a total investment of 20.4 billion yuan, the 94 commenced manufacturing projects cover industries such as new energy, biomedicine, next-generation information technology and intelligent home appliances.

Shoshion's new energy vehicle main structural parts manufacturing project is located at Sanxiang's Langhuanhu Innovation Park, with an area of over 100 mu, a total investment of 1.02 billion yuan and a planned annual investment of 200 million yuan. Designed as a "lighthouse factory", the project will generate an annual output value of 2 billion yuan after going into operation, and the enterprise is expected to hold a 20% share in the domestic market in terms of structural parts for new energy vehicle batteries.
