"The Zhongshan Life Science Park has been open for almost a year, and the 12,000 square meters of commercial facilities have been fully leased," said Wang Baowei, chairman of Zhongshan Cuiheng Jianhui Industrial Park Development Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Cuiheng Group, adding that a new business district is taking shape on Ma'an Island as businesses gradually open.

The Zhongshan Life Science Park is a key industrial park co-developed by the provincial and municipal governments opened on Ma'an Island last year on September 26. It has a total construction area of 710,000 square meters, making it a finished biomedical industry platform with the largest investment in the Greater Bay Area.

Tian Yuan Long Supermarket, the first comprehensive supermarket in the Zhongshan Life Science Park, opened a few days ago. Covering a land area of 700 square meters, it provides convenience for employees in the Park and surrounding businesses and residents. In addition, a group of brand-name service providers have started operating, and many restaurants have formed a food street in the Park.

"Recently, a Japanese corporate executive inspected Ma'an and expressed great satisfaction with the surrounding commercial facilities. He approached our investment promotion team and concluded an investment project soon," said Wang Baowei.

With the gathering of various brands and service providers, the Zhongshan Life Science Park has evolved into a burgeoning commercial hub on Ma'an Island.

The 3,800 square meters of commercial areas on the third floor of Tower 2 in the Park will soon open a local brand-name store, providing Cantonese morning tea and cuisine as well as business reception services.

The Huixing Plaza has signed contract with a supporting business, which will include a pub and a book house. "They are particularly suitable for high-end consumers, especially scientific researchers," said Wang Baowei.

To expedite the upgrade of commercial facilities on Ma'an Island, Cuiheng New District recently organized a conference to promote investment in commercial, residential and tourism sectors. The event showcased a range of key projects including high-end hotels and large urban complexes.
