In the turbulent environment of global trade in recent years, Star Rapid, a foreign-invested high-tech enterprise that has been rooted in Zhongshan's Torch Development Zone for 17 years, still delivered an impressive performance bucking the trend: In 2023, amidst challenging market conditions, the company achieved double-digit revenue growth, and it successfully exported products to over 50 countries worldwide. 

"Zhongshan is a dynamic but quiet and comfortable city. When I first came here 18 years ago, I had the impulse to start my own business here," said Gordon Styles, head of Star Rapid and a senior engineer from the United Kingdom, adding that after the ShenZhong Link's opening, Zhongshan boasts more prominent regional advantages and is expected to further become a popular business destination within the Greater Bay Area for manufacturing segments.

Since taking root in Torch Development Zone, Star Rapid has been committed to providing world-leading fast prototype and small batch processing services. It has gradually become an important force in the rise of manufacturing segments of Zhongshan.

So far, the company has a senior management and technical team composed of specialists from multiple countries, such as the UK, the US, Germany and Australia. About 10% of the company's employees are from overseas.

Star Rapid has also established its own technical and engineer teams, which are able to provide clients at home and abroad with tailored production solutions and optimal mold designs.

In recent years, Star Rapid has started a lean production reform, which aims to improve the company's efficiency and product quality through the utilization of 6S management, visual management, lean production and pull systems.

In the context of China's vigorous development of new productive forces, Star Rapid has successfully launched its Smart Factory project. By introducing advanced automated production equipment and intelligent management systems, the company has greatly enhanced its production efficiency and product quality.

Meanwhile, Star Rapid has introduced multiple sets of international advanced equipment and instruments, which enable the company to be more competitive in various manufacturing methods and also provide strong support for its technological innovation and product upgrades.

Over the past years, Star Rapid has obtained AEO certification from China Customs, taken active part in the formulation of national standards and industry exchange activities, and made great contribution to the advancement and growth of the industry.
